6/16/2011:  Through a series of very substantial and positive meetings the organization has acquired a space that will accommodate many of its needs and facilitate many types of casting performances.   

DONATE TO SAVE THE CUPOLAS!!!

The furnace relocation relief fund.

In order for the organization to keep its most crucial components in its possession we need to raise a little money to assist in the transport of the five, seven ton capacity cupolas that were donated by Matthew Barney after the filming of KHU in October of 2010.  We are finally at a point that we can get them to a place that will accommodate storage and the use of these machines.  Below, I’ve outlined our fundraising objectives, timeline, and described how these monies will contribute to the growth and sustainability of the organization.  Please donate!!!

FUNDRAISING OBJECTIVES:

Fundraiser goal / amount:                            $12,500.00

Timeline for donation:                            October 10th, 2011

WHAT CAUSES DONATIONS WILL SERVE:

Priority will be given to the relocation of the iron casting furnaces along with the safe storage at a Detroit midtown site that will also serve as grounds for performance for many future Carbon Arts events.  If these fundraising objectives are not met I believe that we will lose components to some of the largest iron casting furnaces outside of industry.  Please visit the furnace construction page to see more images of the furnaces.

Secondly, the remaining funds will be used to hold an inaugural Carbon Arts Cast Iron Event to be held at the new location.  Along with a performance and production pour, the event will include collaborations from many artists / performers within the Detroit area as well as visitors from across the country sharing similar interests. 

Any remaining or additional funds received will contribute to expedite tax exempt status for the organization.  With this being said, donations are not eligible to be written off as donations to tax exempt organizations.  This is what we are working to achieve and any and all support will be greatly appreciated.
